Catching up
It has been a long time since I have posted anything to my blog. There are a few reason's: I got a fancy new camera that has taken some time to get used to. It has been a challenge finding time to learn how to upload pics to my computer. The second reason, which is the biggest reason, is that 2010 has been the year of the "Doman curse".
January started off with my back injury. I was OUT for almost two weeks. Since then we have had 8 ear infections- yes, you heard me EIGHT! Four for each kid. Pink eye twice for both kids. The flu for mom and dad. More colds than I can count. Sinus infections. Mom with pneumonia. Dental surgery for Bridger. Dad getting hit by a car while riding his bike. I have said all along, "It's got to get better. What more can happen?" and then something else happens. When I got the call that Derek had been hit by a car I actually laughed (not in a mean way) but SERIOUSLY! REALLY?! Is it possible that we can have that much bad luck.
So now I am going to try and catch up on what we have been up to. Starting with our trip to Utah. Not a whole lot to say. We intended on staying 1 1/2 weeks and ended up there about three weeks. Due to having to take Bridger in for dental surgery and mom getting pneumonia. I figured I should be allowed 2 days recovery before getting thrown in a car and being whisked away to reality back home.

When I tried to schedule Bridger's birthday picture, I found out our favorite picture place went out of business. Desperate to get it done I caved and went to my least favorite picture place. At least the pics were cheap. Didn't love the pics but I will give them credit for getting a shot of Lilly...many have tried and failed.

Happy Birthday Bridger!
Bridger is 5 years old!
Bridger started off his big day with breakfast at IHOP. He had pancakes with strawberries and whip cream...his new favorite. He ate so much that he got a bit of a stomachache and collapsed on the bench.
It was a gorgeous sunny day so we spent some time at the park. He and Lilly had so much fun on the swings and slide. Bridger helped Lilly with it all. Now that Bridger is 5 he is going to ALWAYS be nice,be a big helper, a good friend, obey all the rules, eat all his vegetables....
I was amazed! He pulled it off all day today. I hope it actually continues.
Bridger had his favorite dinner of Orange Chicken over rice. Then on to cake and ice cream. He was very specific with what cake he wanted. He chose everything on it and in it. He wanted chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. He wanted a layered cake with sprinkles on top. It had to say "Bridger" and "Rock on" in blue frosting along the side. The candle needed to be a 5 with four other candles. I was a little nervous about meeting his expectations but he was so excited. He said it was the coolest cake he has ever seen. He also threw in that I was the best mom...I think I am going to like his being 5!
He opened some fun gifts. (don't mind the picture below with Derek's stinky feet and the dirty diaper. sigh)
Bridger's fun day ended with a hug from his sister who adores him.
