Today I spent the day making chicken salad for 60 people. Jealous?

I am the Enrichment counselor in our new ward. Every time I have a baby, the ward splits while I'm out of town and I get put in the Relief Society presidency. I think under different circumstances I would really love this calling. I am not an organized person so trying to get my life together after having a baby is hard enough then throw the calling in and my life is chaos!

When I had this calling before, the Enrichment program had just changed. So we were scrambling trying to figure out what was right for our ward and dealing with a Bishop and enrichment leader who saw it differently.

This time I was out of town for a few weeks after we were combined with the other ward. I went to church the Sunday we got back, spent most of the time in Primary, and by Wednesday I was called. So my first time I actually went to Relief Society I was in the presidency. I had to sit up front and it was really uncomfortable looking out into a bunch of strange faces.

But on the bright side....I'm not teaching Gospel Doctrine!

So I decided to Google my name. I'm not sure why...Derek and the kids were in bed, I had one free minute to myself and that is what I decided to do. I need a life!
Anyway, I was excited to see my name. It said I was on Facebbook, which I am. Then I clicked on the picture this is what I saw.

Obviously not me. I have never in my life met someone with the name Lynette. I've heard it on TV (Lynette Jennings, Lynette from Desperate Housewives-which I have never watched, but apparently I am a desperate housewife since I Googled my own name!). Like I said I have never met another Lynette, but I am even more surprised there is another LYNETTE DOMAN. Apparently she is more popular than me since she showed up. Maybe someday.

I am obviously sleep deprived. I'm going to bed!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Derek and I have unintentionally stayed in some of the worst hotels! The kind that you can get a disease just by looking at them. They make some good stories!

The last few years Derek has given me a night off for my birthday. Last year was a disaster.
My room didn't have heat
+ had to move rooms at 2 in the morning
+There was construction being done on the hotel
+ loud noise early in the morning.
= no sleep, no relaxation, not happy!

This year Derek sent me to a VERY fancy hotel in downtown Portland. It was a five star hotel called The Nines. I thought I had been to some nice places until I saw this. Nothing could compare. The pictures don't do it justice.

Obviously the rooms were beautiful. But what made it great were the details. Plush robe to wear in your room, marble bathrooms, carpet was incredibly soft, beds were comfortable. They had top of the line exercise room. Each piece of excercise equipment had its own TV and "personal trainer". They had a gorgeous library with wall to wall books where you could sit and read. I never had to carry my own bags- there was always someone there to assist me.

I had a great time. Once I got there, I didn't leave the hotel until they kicked me out (except to get dinner-who can afford a $8 glass of OJ?) I got some nice Rest and Relaxation.

Derek- all the past experiences at hotels are forgiven! Thanks!
